Campus Re-Opening Team Update for July 8, 2020

Re-opening Team Update – by Frank Cebular

Although the Church Campus has been closed for some time due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the Re-opening Team and the Trustees have been working to assure that when we return to in-person worship, we will be ready. The Trustees have worked on cleaning and sanitizing protocols, signage, face coverings, social distance seating and liability wavers. The Re-opening Team has worked with the Trustees on a Re-opening video to show the many changes that will be required as we get back to in-person worship.

Over the next few weeks, we will do live streaming from both the 9:30 Contemporary service and the 11:00 Traditional service. We will be using volunteers from the Re-opening Team to assure that we will be ready for in-person worship.

One of the many changes that is needed to get back to in-person worship will be that we will have to sign-up to attend a service to ensure we do not exceed the capacity for social distancing. This will be done through an internet-based program called Sign Up Genius. If you do not have a computer, or are unsure about how to sign up, please contact Velva Zarley and she will assist in getting you signed up for a worship service. In addition, family units will have to remain together during the service with no children’s programs available. The following is a list of the requirements that all will have to abide by to come to worship.

  • I will wash my hands using CDC recommended handwashing procedures or use hand sanitizer.
  • I will not enter church facilities if I have symptoms of COVID-19.  Such symptoms include, but are not limited to chills, shortness of breath, dry cough, sore throat, or a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher.  If I develop such symptoms, I must be symptom-free for 72 hours before returning to Church facilities.
  • I will wear a face-covering while on church property in the presence of others if I am able to do so.
  • I will follow social distancing when possible.
  • I will IMMEDIATELY notify Bill Eckert, Trustees Safety Manager, Phone 215-896-6436 available 24 hours, if I test positive for COVID-19, am a presumed positive, or if I develop any of the symptoms of COVID-19 listed above.
  • I will IMMEDIATELY notify Bill Eckert, Trustees Safety Manager, Phone 215-896-6436 available 24 hours. if I become aware that I was exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or is a presumed positive.

Please understand that these changes are for the protection of everyone. If you are not comfortable coming to church when we first re-open the buildings for in-person worship services, know that the live streaming will be available for 9:30 and 11:00 services until you feel ready to return to in-person worship.

Either way, we look forward to “seeing” you for worship on Sunday mornings!!
