Pastor’s Message for Friday, May 1, 2020

Dear Friends –

Today we have become one congregation!! And, on behalf of those who have journeyed as the body of Christ at Cedarville, I welcome all from First who have joined us today in the exciting journey forward.

I believe that God has been at work from the very first conversation that Pastor Pat and I had back in January 2019! Since then, many other conversations have ensued and much work has been done to prepare us for this day.

Thank you to the members of the Strategic Planning Team – David Zarley, Clare Schilling, Jere McDonald, Frank Cebular, Lisa Harner, John Baxter, Rich Adamson, Dan Waters, Nancy Lamb and Peggy Moser and Skip Umsteadt – who have worked together, along with Pastor Pat and I, over this last 15 months to bring us to this point. As of today, we are one body of Christ.

And, as of today, Mission First is established. Clare Schilling has accepted the position of Director for Mission First. An Operating Committee has been formed and will oversee and make decisions regarding this ministry as we move forward.

Our journey lies before us. And, there is mission and ministry to be done in the name of Jesus Christ.

I look forward to the time when we will be able to gather for in-person worship. Until that time, we will “meet” online and worship God together through the blessing of technology and those who are gifted in creating those services. We will gather online for opportunities for study, prayer, and connection, as well as the ‘business’ of the church.

We will continue to love God, love one another, and and love our neighbor as we journey together!

Blessings, peace, prayers, and Easter Joy!
Pastor Sherry
