Who (and What) is Helping? – Part 2

Dear Friends – (other opportunities to help will be sent as they are received)

To follow up from my earlier email about looking for ‘who is helping’ in the midst of this pandemic, I offer you the information below regarding how you can help to serve those in our community who have need of food assistance during this time.

Today, I spoke with Karen Foster, who is coordinating the collection, packing and distribution of food to help families in need during this time.

She writes:
In order to continue to support nutrition for those who are in need during these difficult times, we will be providing a donation site at Positively Pasta, located at 351 W Schuylkill Road in Pottstown, right next to the Coventry Mall. Please consider donating non-perishable goods between the hours of 10:00 am – 6:00 pm Monday thru Friday and 10:00 am – 2:00 pm on Saturdays.

You can find preferred donation list below, but we will gladly accept other nonperishable items. There is a space outside of Positively Pasta to to drop off these donations without contact with others.

So far, 700 bags or boxes have been packed. They are getting distributed at Owen J. Roberts Middle School or at Positively Pasta. To date, 650 of those 700 bags/boxes have been distributed.

If you are in need of food, you can pick up a bag/box of food at the Middle School on Mondays and Thursdays from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, or on the sidewalk in front of Positively Pasta with already bagged/boxed food that you can pick up, without physical contact with anyone. You can receive food, no questions asked.
