Pastor Sherry Lantz
The Reverend Sherry L. Lantz was appointed to serve as the Pastor of Cedarville United Methodist Church beginning July 1, 2009. Pastor Lantz previously served as Associate Pastor of West Lawn United Methodist Church since July 1, 2000. Sherry is an Ordained Elder in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church. Prior to her appointment to Cedarville UMC, she served as Pastor of Discipleship and Congregational Care at West Lawn UMC in West Lawn, PA; she also served as Minister of Youth at Hempfield United Methodist Church, Lancaster, PA; and as a chaplain for Hospice of Lancaster County, for Lancaster General Hospital, and for the former Saint Joseph Hospital in Lancaster.
A native of Lancaster County, Pastor Sherry graduated from J. P. McCaskey High School. She completed ninety credit hours of study as a Psychology major at Millersville University, graduated from Lancaster Bible College with a BS in Bible, with an emphasis in Christian Life and Ministry (1996); received certification in Clinical Pastoral Education through Lancaster General Hospital (1997); and completed studies for a Master of Divinity at Lancaster Theological Seminary (2000) in Lancaster, PA.
Sherry and her husband, Gordy (also of Lancaster), are the parents of two adult children, Jason and Jennifer. They also are the proud grandparents of Hannah and Sarah.

Susan Morris
Susan Morris was born and raised in Kirkwood, a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. After attending the University of Missouri, she moved to the Philadelphia area, where she was employed for Honeywell Information Systems, and then left to help a “new start” business, where she was appointed Secretary/Treasurer of the corporation. Susan left the business world in 1975 after marrying her husband, Ed, and started a family (three children, Ed, Katie, and Bill). During the early family years, she was a nursery school teacher at Coventryville U.M. Church for ten years, and also went to school at night and received a Paralegal degree from Penn State University. Susan began working for Cedarville United Methodist Church in June of 1992. Susan enjoys playing the piano and singing. |

Chris
Vogel
Chris Vogel joined the staff as our organist
in August of 2008. In June 2010, Chris filled in as the interim Contemporary Worship Leader. He was promoted to this position full time in August 2010. He is a graduate of West Chester Univ.
with a B.S. in Music Education, majoring in Piano and Organ
and also holds a Masters in Music from West Chester Univ.
that he received in 2004. Chris is currently the Choral
Director and Music Technology teacher at Marple Newtown
High School. Before joining Cedarville he spent 16 years
in church-related musical and worship leader positions.
He, his wife Tania and son Evan live in Pottstown.

Kathy Ballein
Kathy Ballein was born and raised in Monongahela, PA, a town in Western Pennsylvania. She attended Bucknell University (for two years as a Music Ed Major) and graduated from the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago with a Bachelor of Music Education with major emphasis in Voice. She continued in her educational studies by taking Graduate Studies at Northern Illinois University, West Chester University, and Penn State. She received a Fellowship to Eastern College for summer work in American Studies and taught music in public schools in Illinois for seven years. Upon returning to PA she taught music (from kindergarten through high school) in Exeter Twp, Pottsgrove, Oley Twp, and concluded her teaching career of 40 years by retiring from the Methacton School District in 2004. She has directed church choirs since high school and is currently in her 17th year as the Chancel Choir director here at Cedarville.

Lori Snavely
Lori Snavely is the Handbell Choir Director for Cedarville UMC. She has a B.S. in Music Education from Lebanon Valley College and a M.A. in Music Therapy from Immaculata College. She is also a Board Certified Music Therapist and has a Certificate in Expressive Arts. Lori has been an organist, choir director, handbell choir director, brass choir director, was a member of “Puppet Praise”, and has performed many other roles within different churches. She is currently teaching instrumental music in the Daniel Boone Area School District at Amity Intermediate Center.

Mike Waltemyer
Mike is the AV Coordinator at Cedarville. He has been doing sound in Churches for many year along with other venues. He has a love for music and can play many different instruments. Music is a hobby, he has an Associated Degree in Applied Science (Diesel Technology) from Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, Pa. He is married to Beth and has 3 children and they reside in Exeter. |

Jay Meloy
Jay Meloy has served Cedarville UMC as the elected treasurer commencing in 2000 and remains today as a paid staff member since the treasurer’s position was added to staff in 2007. Jay resides on Winchester Court in North Coventry with his wife Susan. Both have been members of Cedarville since relocating to the area in 1993. Jay is an engineer with Allen Sherman Hoff designing materials handling systems used by coal fired power generation utilities. Jay also serves on the North Coventry Municipal Authority and is active in the Amity Township Lions Club.

Beth Waltemyer
Beth Waltemyer was born in Lima, Ohio. She moved to Pa in 1995 where she went to Montgomery County Community College and received her associates degree in Early Childhood Education in 1998. She is married to Mike Waltemyer, the AV Coordinator for Cedarville UMC. She is currently working PRN as a C.N.A. as well as the Nursery Coordinator Assistant. Mike and Beth have 3 children and reside in Exeter, PA. She is actively involved in all of her childrens' sports as a team mom.

Emilie Atkinson
Emilie Atkinson grew up in Audubon, PA and attended Methacton High School. She attended Antonelli Medical and Professional Institute to become a Medical Assistant. She now works part time as a Licensed Massage Therapist and full time as a Medical Assistant. She taught Sunday School and was a member of the choir and Praise and Worship team at a previous church. She joined Cedarville UMC in 2007, became global missions leader in 2010, and nursery co-coordinator in 2011. She has a heart for mission work and enjoys gardening, hiking, and spending time with her daughter and grandson.

Jim
Jones
Jim Jones, our church sexton, is a long-time
member of Cedarville. He is known for his “precision”
in setting up the chairs in the Family Life Center and Sunday
school rooms. He opens the church for the various functions
and does a walk through and lock down each night. Jim also
works part time for the YWCA in Pottstown and is an avid
Reading Phillies fan. He is instrumental in organizing the
annual Father’s Day outing at the Reading Phillies
for the church, which many members enjoy. He has two children
and two grandchildren that he loves spending time with,
and especially enjoys watching his grandson’s soccer
games.
